EXECUTIVE TEAM
Michael Edell
Chief Executive Officer and President
Michael Edell is a founder, CEO, board member, and operator whose career spans enterprise software, outsourced services, ecommerce, and consumer products.
Over the course of several decades, he has built, acquired, commercialized, scaled, and sold businesses across multiple industries, with particular depth in strategic transactions, fundraising, board leadership, brand development, and enterprise value creation.
His experience includes major operating roles, board and governance leadership, mergers and acquisitions, and the successful launch and commercialization of both technology and consumer product platforms.
Tom Chesterman
Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer
Tom joined SenesTech as CFO in September 2015. He has over 20 years of experience as the CFO of a public company in the life science, tech, and telecommunications industries. Most recently, he was the VP and Treasurer of GCI, a telecommunications company in Alaska, but previous to that he was the CFO of life science companies such as Bio-Rad Laboratories, Aradigm, and Bionovo.
Tom is adept at a variety of capital market access techniques and has a proven track record of developing the operational and financial infrastructure to support successful and rapid growth. Tom has an A.B. from Harvard University and an M.B.A. from the University of California at Davis.
Courtney Ray
Vice President - Science & Innovation
Courtney Ray is the Vice President of Science and Innovation at SenesTech. For more than eight years, she has been a key leader in driving the company's innovative solutions from laboratory research to commercial success.
Throughout her tenure, Courtney has played a critical role in product adoption and commercialization, working closely with stakeholders across various sectors. She helped launch SenesTech’s products into the marketplace, managing national accounts and overseeing technical service teams. Additionally, she has led efficacy research, managed customer field trials, and supported regulatory efforts to expand product use. Prior to joining SenesTech, Courtney worked across academia, government, and the nonprofit sector, focusing on research initiatives in wildlife management. She has utilized her industry knowledge and cross-disciplinary experience to drive business growth, strengthen partnerships, and advance the adoption of fertility control solutions.
Courtney holds a degree in Conservation Biology and Ecology from Arizona State University.
Dean Heyl
Vice President - Manufacturing
Dean Heyl serves as Vice President of Manufacturing, where he leads efforts to ensure reliable supply of raw materials and finished goods while driving the expansion of manufacturing capacity to support the company’s continued growth. With over five years of experience in manufacturing operations, Dean has played a key role in strengthening production capabilities and operational efficiency.
Dean joined SenesTech in March 2021 as Manufacturing Engineering Manager and was promoted to Director after two years, reflecting his strong leadership and technical contributions. He has been instrumental in resolving product challenges and advancing product design initiatives, including development of an improved tray to prevent ContraPest overflow, formulation trials and testing for ContraPest, contributions to the Elevate Station, and the design of the Isolate Tank.In addition,
Dean has supported both laboratory and field trials, preparing small batches of Evolve and assisting in the evaluation of new formulations for future product development.
Dean holds a degree in Electronic Engineering from the University of Dayton.
